History of Baylor:
Baylor Watch Co. is not a name you hear that often and for that exact reason that is why we love Baylor watches (I personally own one too), they provide such great value for money and have impeccable style. Baylor Watch Co. was once under the umbrella of Benrus from the 1950s through the 1970s and had a strong presence in the United States as it was retailed by Zales Jewelry Company. Heuer made numerous watches for Zales under the Baylor watch name. When Heuer decide to unload most all their mechanical and automatic watches and concentrate on the automatic chronograph Zales purchase the entire stock for pennies on the dollar, thus why they are a fantastic value proposition with reliable and strong movements. Just don't tell too many people about this little known watch fact so you can still buy a Baylor for a reasonable price....shhhhh!
About This Watch:
This amazing Baylor Vintage Watch uses an mechanical 17 Jewel 'hand-winding' movement with a date display, it is keeping perfect time and working as it should. The watch does have a few scratches and miner dents on the watch case - however these add to the vintage look.
The watch's dial has acquired beautiful very-light patina over the many years (patina refers to this natural aging process of the timepieces that generally alters the hands, hour markers, and dials of the watch face. Collectors believe this patina adds character as every scratch, faded numeral and discolouring represents a story of the watch's past.
CASE: Good condition - few scratches and miner dents - however these add to the vintage look.
DIAL: Amazing Condition - Very-light patina.
BACK CASE: Great condition.
CROWN: Fantastic condition.
CRYSTAL: Great condition.
OVERALL CONDITION: Has been tested, cleaned and checked over and is in excellent working order.
PRESENTATION: Presented in a vintage style presentation box, great for a gift or to simply keep the watch in.
